Admiral William Satterlee Pye, USN (1880-1959). The Admiral enjoyed a distinguished military career, however some tried to blame Pye for the results of the Pearl Harbor attack. You can read the Report for Pearl Harbor Attack which he reviewed and forwarded. John Satterlee provided the links with this note: The Rev. W.W. Satterlee was my great-uncle. The admiral was his grandson. My grandfather, Richard B., was 34 when my Dad (Herbert) was born in 1875 and Dad was 54 when I was born in 1929, so that will account for the difference in ages....a lot of people tried to blame Pye for the Pearl Harbor attack. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
