Solomon Elsworth McManigal of Brookville and a native of Jefferson County, died at his home on Wednesday, August 8. Death resulted from a paralytic stroke, Mr. McManigal suffered five months ago.
The deceased was born June 6 1861, the son of Solomon and Mary McManigal. He was untied in marriage to Marth Swartz on June 6, 1866, in DuBois.
Mr. McManigal lived for a number of years in Clearfield and Dents Run, PA. At the time he was in the lumber business but more recently was employed at the Humprey Brick and Tile Co.
Children who survive are Sophie and Rena of DuBois, Katie and Lillian of CA, Luella of Mayport, Emmett of Medix Run and Harvey, Hudson, Ellsworth and Theodore of Brookville. Two sisters, Mary Jane and Nancy who reside in NY state and two brothers, James of Hazen and Franklin of Buffalo, NY also survive.
The funeral was conducted on August 11, by the Rev. Mr. John Shaffer. Interment was made in the Butler Cemetery.
