Obituary; Jan 1940. Mrs. Mary McManigle Mrs. Mary (Stewart) McManigle passed away Sunday, January 21st at the home of her grandson, Carl Satterlee, near Hazen,Pa. She was born in Beechwoods July 24,1851, a daughter of William F. and Sarah Jane Stewart. On April 25, 1882, she was united in marriage to William J. McManigle. To this union three children were born, one of whom Maude M. preceded her in death. Surviving are her two daughters: Mrs. Nettie Satterlee, of Hazen and Mrs. Gertrude Stahlman, of Emelton,Pa., and one sister, Mrs. Mina Brown, of Clarion. Four grandsons: William Satterlee, of Marion Center; Carl Satterlee, of hazen; Howard satterlee, of Anaconda,Mont.,Reid Stahlman, of Emelton and the following great grandchildren: James, Helen and Donald Hinderliter, of Falls Creek; Anna, Carl, Mary and William Satterlee, of Hazen; Gurney Satterlee, of Marion Center and James satterlee, of Anaconda, Mont., also survive. Her husband preceded her in death March 29,1935. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hazen Methodist church at 2 p.m.,conducted by Rev.Ralph Brooks, of Big Run and rev. Arnold Lumberg, of Hazen with interment in the Butler cemetery.
Mary married William James McManigle, son of Solomon Ellsworth McManigle and Mary Jane Mason, on 25 Apr 1882. (William James McManigle was born on 4 Oct 1859 in Brookville, Jefferson County, PA, died on 29 Mar 1935 in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County, PA and was buried in Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County, PA.)
