General Notes:
He first married Mary Curtis, believed to have been a Soiux Indian. He is burried Indiana, USA Neilsville, Wisconsin. He was raised Indiana, USA New York, USA. He was Indiana, USA the war (War of 1812?) at the age of 19. (I would say this is th e Civil War 1861-1865. This would put his birth about 1842-1846) He lived on an 80-acre farm 4 miles from Neilsville, Wisconsin. He "had several horses and broke them" says the source I am getting this all from. He broke his leg, later got Pneu monia which caused his death.
The family story goes that he broke his leg when he fell off the barn roof! He married second, Margaret Marriette Franks 1867, Indiana, USA Minnesota. They moved to Clark County, Wisconsin, Indiana, USA 1870. All their children were born on th e homestead, except Royal.
(Note: since Royal and Rolland are twins, I would assume that means that Rolland wasn't born on the homestead, either.)
I believe there was a set of twins (sex unknown) that died at birth
William had 2 or 3 sisters The above notes conflict with the data that Goldie Moffat Satterlee has published......
William married Mary Curtis before 1866 in Minnesota, USA.
William also married Margaret Marriette Franks on 12 Jan 1867. (Margaret Marriette Franks died on 12 Feb 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.)
